Aisha Sharma (she/they)
Aisha Sharma (she/they) is a multimedia writer, performer, producer and artist based in Toronto. She enjoys creating art that reflects on her experiences as a Trans and South Asian woman, challenging traditional narratives and conventions through the use of media. In 2023, she was a part of Thou Art Here Theatre's Write Here Immersive Playwrights' Unit. Her play, Brown Kids, Slay Monsters, was produced at Nextfest (2021) and was a runner-up in the Accidental Author's Playwriting Competition. She was also a writer-in-residence for the Brampton Arts Council in 2022. Sharma developed her professional content creation abilities as the Community Reporter at MetRadio (2022) and the Community Coordinator at SpiritLive Radio (2022-2023).

2025 - Canculture Magazine
Writer/Model - Wrote featured poem for Issue Four - After Dark, named After Hours. Modelled for cover.
2023 - SpiritLive Radio
Community Coordinator - handled all social media and blog posting, editing, and volunteer training. Trained volunteers on using station equipment for podcast production and editing, as well as live radio shows.
2022 - MetRadio
Community Reporter - created content centring TorontoMet students and community for radio, website, and social media. Handled all summer festivals coverage by coordinating volunteers, equipment training and renting, and accreditation.
2022 - Brampton Arts Organization
Writer-in-Residence - authored a collection of two poems about excommunication and missing home.
2022 - Yesterday Will Hurt
Assistant Director - Student film project selected for Toronto Shorts International Film Festival (2022).
2022 - MetRadio
Volunteer - Interviewed and edited for Toronto Nature Now's podcast episodes centring advocates and researchers for the environment and climate change.
2021 - Nextfest
Playwright/Director/Performer - Brown Kids, Slay Monsters was the runner-up for the Accidental Author's Playwriting Competition in 2021.
2021 - Edmonton Citadel Theatre
Playwright - As a part of the Young Playwright Company, wrote and workshopped Brown Kids, Slay Monsters. Final script received a staged reading.
